Star Song Music and Ivey Music International (IMI) are rolling out Bluegrass Worship, 30 worship standards in a 3-CD set arranged and recorded in the classic Bluegrass/Newgrass style by Billboard top-charting producer, Steve Ivey, who has sold well over a million records in his young career.
The rare, comprehensive music collection includes some of America’s favorite Sunday morning hymns and worship songs, songs which have become the musical expression of faith for generations. Priced at only $13.99, Bluegrass Worship combines heartfelt harmonies, graceful and intimate melodies with spirited, classic bluegrass instrumentation, offering a truly rare listening experience to Bluegrass fans all over the world. This Summer, Star Song and IMI will roll out all 30 songs digitally in 3 thematic releases: Bluegrass Worship, Bluegrass Hymns and Bluegrass Gospel Songs. Bluegrass Worship incorporates some of the most popular worship songs ranked on Contemporary Christian Licensing International Chart (CCLI), originally recorded by popular recording artists like Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, David Crowder*Band, Brenton Brown and Delirious?, with eight new, original songs written by producer/arranger Steve Ivey of IMI. The result is a 30-song collection of beloved hymns and popular worship songs of today intertwined with original songs, in a celebration of Bluegrass fusion, created around songs which are the musical bedrock of the American expression of faith. Bluegrass fans like Todd Wilinson are elated, commenting on a CMT (Country Music Television) website that Bluegrass Worship is “great acoustic music” and he loves the “songs, arrangements and bluegrass versions” of some of his favorite praise songs. And, another listener from Knoxville, Tennessee remarked, “these 3 cd's are great, there were several songs I knew but I found some new ones I really like too.” Bluegrass music fans can expect to hear favorite hymns, old and new, transformed into a wonderful new Bluegrass and Newgrass style. Created by Steve Ivey, Bluegrass Worship touts some of Nashville’s best-known pickers, players and singers including Andy Leftwich, Ricky Skaggs mandolin and fiddle player, Rob Ikes of Blue Highway and Three Ring Circle on dobro and Richard Bailey of The Steeldrivers on banjo.
