Lopez, Josh Print E-mail

Josh LopezWith a passion for God and the desire to spread inspiration, hope, and love through his music, worship leader and songwriter Josh Lopez is set to release his highly anticipated new album Free To Live this year on KOCH Records. Featuring the hit single “My Savior, My God” by Aaron Shust, which Lopez sings in Spanish, “Mi Salvador, Mi Dios” is set to take its powerful message deep within the Latin American community and beyond.

Produced by Mark G. Townsend, Free To Live showcases a wide range of musical diversity as well as Lopez’s impassioned vocals, and a deeply worshipful collection of songs. The album features 12 songs, 11 of which are written or co-written by Lopez as well as three songs recorded in Spanish.

Free To Live is already making an impact with “Mi Salvador, Mi Dios” being used in video footage for a recent trip that Lopez took with Food for the Hungry to Bolivia. Lopez has also led congregations in “Mi Salvador, Mi Dios” where the reaction to the song has been incredibly powerful.  In addition, Lopez and his wife recently started the “Free To Live” campaign for needy children in Latin America.

Born in Puerto Rico, Lopez grew up in the Bronx, NY and eventually found himself living in Texas where he serves as worship leader at Shoreline Christian Center in Austin, TX.  Earlier on in life, Lopez was the lead singer in the Latin pop group Jaquemate. After touring Latin America opening up for acts like Ricky Martin and Mana and having a number one single on the charts, Lopez came to a point in his life where he wanted to make a difference in people’s lives through his music. He received the opportunity to travel and sing with multi-GRAMMY Award winner, Israel Houghton. This led Lopez to also work with such noted artists as Larry Gatlin, Randy Phillips from Phillips, Craig and Dean, Martha Munizzi, Crystal Lewis, GB5, Mark G. Townsend, Phil Sillas, and Ramy Antoun, just to name a few.
