Kilpatrick, Bob Print E-mail

From Bob Kilpatrick, via email (June 2008): The Rome Worship Conference and the Naples Worship Conference were both a smashing success! We expected 30 in each city; we had 300! We expected hundreds at the concerts; we had thousands! We expected to meet friendly people; we made friends for life.

We are already planning our second annual conferences for May, 2009. And you made the difference! God used you to raise all the funds needed- over $60,000 for the 13 of us on the team- to bless the Italian churches. Thank you!

Italian WorshippersWhen we sang in the piazza right around the corner from Valerio’s church, there were many hundreds of people gathered in the piazza. Valerio said to look at the balconies in the buildings around us. There were hundreds more listening from their own homes! When we gave an altar call, 200 responded, among them three members of the city council! God has given us an open door through them to do more outdoor concerts in Rome next year.

We took guitars, keyboards, drums and loads of equipment to give away. Rick Dupea brought a large donation from his church and bought more gear in Rome after he had assessed the needs. Below you can see a photo of Steve Puleo with the Gretsch drums he brought to give away. Willie & Melissa Saulnier of Oikeo Music in Alaska printed and brought with them a bilingual magazine for the conferences and gave them to all the attendees. I am so overwhelmed with the generosity of our ministry friends- You! Together we did so much more than we could have done on our own.

I have committed my studio to produce a CD of Italian worship songs for next year. All the musicians on the trip have donated their skills to the project as well. On Friday evening we had a special prayer time just for the songwriters that God would give them worship songs that would spread around the world. I believe that God will do it!

Valerio had translated my song God Is Good into Italian before we arrived, and it became the theme song of the event. What a blessing to hear them singing Dio e buon! (If you haven’t heard the song yet, download it for free-with a lead sheet- at www.bobkilpatrick.com).

Italian WorshippersGod has put it on my heart to do worship conferences all around the world. I have been invited to bring the team to Mexico City next year where they expect 50,000 to gather (they had 35,000 this year.) And in just three weeks I leave for Scotland to set up Edinburgh Worship 2009. Besides meeting with pastors there I will be doing concerts, church ministry and a children’s camp.

I am blessed to have my entire family going with me to do this ministry- all 23 of us! Ian & Jennifer and Kyle & Emily are all involved in children’s ministry here in the US. They will be directing the children’s camp. My five children have formed a band and recorded a CD and will be performing with me in the concerts. We will be singing anywhere and everywhere we can, from the top of Scotland to the bottom! I love to minister with my children! And I know that the next generation- our grandchildren- will be introduced to a life of giving yourself away for the sake of the gospel. We are planting seeds in their tender hearts.

Under the Mercy,
Bob Kilpatrick
