The Christian Musician Summit, a two day international conference offering over 100 workshops for Christian musicians, audio-visual technicians, and church staffers, will makes it first appearance in the Northeastern United States on May 16th and 17th at The Chapel at CrossPoint, a megachurch in suburban Buffalo, New York. Featured artists at the Christian Musician Summit at The Chapel at CrossPoint, located at 500 CrossPoint Parkway in Getzville, New York, a suburb of Buffalo, will include Phil Keaggy, phenomenal bassist John Patitucci, prolific songwriter and worship leader Paul Baloche, as well as new artists Vicky Beeching, Matt Maher, Anadara, and Pocket Full of Rocks. In addition, Kingdom Bound board member and long-time rocker Rick Cua will be in attendance with an amazing band called Blues Counsel, featuring Tom Lane, Will McFarlane, Tony Morra, Tony Hopper and Emedin Rivera. Not only will they perform, but select musicians will also teach workshops and clinics to the registrants. All in all, there will be close to 50 presenters teaching workshops. Over the course of two days, there will be over 100 workshops in the following tracks: leadership, vocals, acoustic and electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, percussion, keyboards, songwriting, audio and video. All of the workshops are elective, so registrants can participate in a wide variety of learning opportunities. The lobby of the church will be host to many exhibitors from an expansive list of companies. The event is sponsored by World Vision, WoshipTogether.com, Integrity Music, California Road Studios, WorshipSource.com, Shure microphones, PreSonus audio, M-Audio, Roland, Consuming Worship, Easy Worship, WorshipFilms.com, ElectroVoice, GreatWorshipSongs.com, CCLI, Guitar Center, Christian Musician Magazine, and Worship! Musician Magazine. All of these companies, as well as many others, will have booths in the lobby ready and willing to exhibit their resources and wares, including gear, music, tools for leaders and musicians, and instruments. In addition to the conference, there are two evening concerts, each starting at 7pm. May 16th will feature Phil Keaggy, and John Patitucci with Nick Manson. May 17th will feature Paul Baloche, with Vicky Beeching and Matt Maher. The concerts are included in the cost of registrations, or separately for those who cannot attend the conference. The Christian Musician Summit is being brought to Western New York by Kingdom Bound Ministries, a Buffalo-based organization which mounts the giant Kingdom Bound Christian music festival at Darien Lake Theme Park Resort each August. Kingdom Bound 2008 will take place August 3-6, and feature more than 50 speakers and concerts, including headliners Lincoln Brewster, Third Day, Jaci Velasquez, Salvador, and Newsboys.
