Jonathan Nelson: Right Now Praise Print E-mail

Jonathan Nelson and Purpose recently released their major label debut entitled Right Now Praise. The album is available on Integrity Music and is distributed in the U.S. by Provident-Integrity Distribution. It will also be distributed worldwide by Integrity International. And, already the uplifting radio single "My Name Is Victory" has been one of the most-added new singles at Gospel radio.

Right Now Praise is rounded out with a dozen other songs including guest appearances by gospel luminaries Sheri Moffet-Jones on "Yes, Out There," William Murphy on "Great and Mighty," Nikki Ross on "Already Mine" and Jonathan's twin brother Jason on the title track.

While all of the songs reflect Jonathan's journey of faith, it is perhaps the title track that most serves as an anthem for his personal life. "I wrote that during a difficult time in my life back in 2003," he explains. "I was on the verge of losing my home and my car. I was working as a substitute teacher. I was in a very low place. My car is my mediation place. So, I was crying down the road and started singing a melody to the Lord and that's when `Right Now Praise' came to me. I had to rush into school and get to my tape recorder and put it down before I forgot it."

For the last few years, there's been much industry buzz about Jonathan and his brilliant songwriting abilities due to hits such as: "The Struggle Is Over"  (Youth for Christ), "Healed" (Donald Lawrence), "The Right Place" (Rudolph McKissick Jr.), ""Great Praise" (Stephen Hurd) and "Praise Is My Weapon" (Melonie Daniel).

Jawn Murray of the nationally syndicated radio program, The Tom Joyner Morning Show, states: "Jonathan Nelson has captured the soul of Sunday morning on this Praise & Worship masterpiece. Right Now Praise embodies the full church experience, offering songs that will be staple selections in sanctuaries of all denominations for many years to come!"
