My name is Shawn Greene, older brother and promotor for Christian HipHop Artist and Producer LEGACY, also known as, Brandon Greene.

Brandon has been involved in the music production for over 10 years, starting in radio at a local small market AM station north of Tampa, Florida in 1995.

Brandon began working in Youth ministry at his church soon after and was known as the DJ/Rapper of the core leadership. Brandon, using the surname LEGACY, entered a fine arts competition with the church and recieved 2nd place in the Rap category at the national level.

Never giving up on what God put on his heart, Brandon pursued his dreams and continued producing Christian music over the years eventually completing his own national release. After 3 years of paying for studio time, graphic design, and the manufacturing of the project out of his own pocket, he released his debut LP GREEN LIGHT in 2004.

Brandon had a complete album ready for the next step, but really had no plan as what to do next. He wasn't signed to any record label (although the CD had a Fla.vor Alliance imprint in it), and there was no distribution deal, and no one was willing to promote it. That's where I came in.

Once Brandon gave me the full project, I listened to it in it's entirety, over and over again. In my opinion, it was better than most CDs that were out in any genre, including secular genres. I was so impressed with the CD I asked him if he would like me to see what I can do with it. We talked about it, and he wasn't sure what I can do. Although I was confident I could do something, I wasn't sure either. We both understood that we had no idea what could happen.

I've been in business for myself since 1997, and I've studied the Music Business for many years prior to receiving his CD, so I had more of an idea what should be done next. So I promoted GREEN LIGHT for a year and saw the best responses to the music in the Spring of 2005 as Christian Rhythmic DJs an stations were spinning both of the first two singles: the _title_ track "Green Light" and the remix of "Battle Cry" featuring Rawsrvnt and Los-1.

As far as I was concerned, it was a big success, since we had no distribution and no label supporting us. The songs both made the top ten on many Christian radio stations around the country, going up against not just the Rhythmic tracks, but the CHR and Rock tracks as well.

My efforts caught the attention of Pastor Tommy Kyllonen, aka, Urban D, and asked if I could promote two singles from Fla.vor Alliance Records: "Passport" by Urban D featuring Pettidee, and "Real Man" by Fla.vor Alliance. Both tracks also did well in the Spring/Summer of 2005. It was my first test, to see what I needed to learn about the Christian industry and what I should do the next time around.

I promoted a few more Rhythmic tracks in the Spring/Summer of 2006: Rawsrvnt "Holiness", C.L.Ryderz "Do You Know", and Sevin "Say A Prayer". All doing well in various markets. Rawsrvnt eventually signed to the newly formed Fla.vor Alliance Media Group, and a new staff was implimented to promote the project.

Since September 2006, I've worked as a retail manager in New York, earning Manager of the Month, eight months out of the last ten, putting my focus on my career. Brandon worked as a youth pastor in Tampa, FL and started his own production company called LegUpMusic, LLC, producing for local Christian artists around the Bay area. I still maintain my marketing company DiMediaNet and continue to work with local artists, promoting events and music.

Brandon released an EP called STRICTLY BUSINESS at the end of 2006 and many stations received it to create a buzz of his newest LP. We got a good response with the EP, which includes th singles "Press On" and the _title_ track. Both tracks are in rotation on many stations playing Christian hiphop.

Now, Brandon and I have discussed plans to regroup and promote the newest production due out this year. He is already done with all but 2 tracks for his newest CD (currently un_title_d). Our hopes is to find the right people to work with to support in promotion and distribution. Could you be those people?

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Blessings,

Shawn Greene
