A note from Mark Weber...
While I have enjoyed singing at nursing homes for the past two years, being bum-rushed by lines of lively old ladies after singing romantic love songs to them for an hour, I would really like your help in making me the kind of music artist who reaches people in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s. My plan is something like this: take really old songs and introduce them to really young people, as well as let a few middle-aged people enjoy them, too.
Songs I sing include: Chanson D'Amour, I'm In The Mood For Love, Too Fat Polka, A Kiss To Build A Dream On, Alley Cat, Summer Wind, Five Foot Two Eyes Of Blue, I Can't Give You Anything But Love, Bye Bye Blackbird, L-O-V-E, Satin Doll, Day-O, What A Wonderful World, Route 66, Blue Suede Shoes, Ain't She Sweet, Volare, Fly Me To The Moon, Cherry Pink And Apple Blossom White, Almost Like Being In Love, Mack The Knife, The Lady Is A Tramp, That's All, It Had To Be You, Around The World, All Of Me, Manana, Night & Day, Tenderly, Besame Mucho, Taking A Chance On Love, Come Go With Me, When I Fall In Love, Ain't Misbehavin', You Took Advantage Of Me, Old Cape Cod, Walk On By, More Today Than Yesterday, There I've Said It Again, Dream A Little Dream Of Me, Christmastime Is Here, Who Wants To Cry At Christmas, Winter Wonderland, White Christmas, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Let It Snow, Jingle Bell Rock, Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, Jingle Bells...
When I'm not channeling my inner Enrique Iglesias for the really romantic songs like "Besame Mucho," I'm thinking, "If Michael Buble was here, could I make the crowd like me more than him?" Hey, for a while there it was The Beatles vs. The Stones, so I think it's about time it was Mark Weber vs. Michael Buble. Let's see which crooner can make more women swoon-er...Um, yeah. :)
Ok, I was getting carried away there. By now, you've read this far, and you're thinking, "How can I help support this guy's dream coming true of being a jazzy pop vocalist listed in the same sentence as that Buble kid, and Diana Krall, Harry Connick, Jr., and Nat 'King' Cole?" Well, funny you should ask. First off, you can help me get more than 1,000 friends on myspace and 1,500 on facebook-- "be my friend" on these two GREAT sites. Next up, download my collection of songs, "When I Fall In Love," which is now, after a long wait, finally available on amazon.com, itunes.com, and emusic.com. Finally, shell out some bucks and have me come sing at your event or your cool jazzy pop venue in '09. I'm ready to travel and I'd like to visit Seattle, L.A., Vegas, St. Louis, Memphis, West Palm, Hotlanta, NYC and good ol' Boston. If you have me come do a concert, I will give you a one hour show that'll put a smile on your face and make the people in the room feel good. Lord knows with this depressing economy, the joy I bring is priceless!
Maybe you can! lol...I hope you had a Merry Christmas! and have a safe and happy New Year! Maybe I'll see you at MURJ in the new year! be blessed :) MB
